Former Michigan State employee Denard Robinson has reached a deal with prosecutors in connection with his April arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to TMZ Sports.

Robinson pleaded guilty to driving under the influence, a misdemeanor that can result in up to 93 days in jail and a total fine of $300.

The 33-year-old was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Ann Arbor, Michigan on April 15. According to MLive’s Aaron McMann, officers said they found him “unresponsive” and “asleep at the wheel” of a 2023 Jeep Wagoneer that had struck a traffic sign.

A blood test taken several hours after the crash showed that Robinson, who refused a breath test at the scene, had a blood-alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit.

Robinson played four years for the Wolverines and was their starting quarterback for the last three. He threw for 6,250 yards and 49 touchdowns while running for 4,495 yards and 42 scores.

The Florida native was a first-team All-American and the Big Ten MVP as a sophomore in 2010.

After playing for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and the AAF’s Atlanta Legends, Robinson returned to his alma mater in 2022 as assistant director of player personnel. While he remained on staff with Sherrone Moore who replaced Jim Harbaugh as head coach, Michigan cut ties following his arrest.

MLive’s Andrew Kahn reported Monday that he has since become the running backs coach at LEAD Prep Academy in Brighton, Michigan.
