DAY OF JUDGMENT; Update on the production of SECRET WARS

Major comic book news was a bit lacking this week, but we do have a few rumors about the next two Avengers movies to lead us into the weekend.

According to MTTSHthe characters that make up the upcoming team Lightning strikes* film will play a ‘major’ role Avengers: Doomsday.

Possibly spoilers from this point.

This would support an earlier rumor claiming that this “least expected group of misfits” would actually be revealed as the New Avengers (hence the asterisk in the title).

This doesn’t necessarily mean that these characters alone will form the next incarnation of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, but it seems like the plan is for them to form the basis for a new, most likely government-sponsored (we’ll see how long that will last) to last). lasts) team that would be officially activated after (or perhaps during) the events of Avengers: Secret Wars.

Speaking of Secret Wars, Daniel Richtman hears that the film will shoot in Britain from March 2026 “to allow space for the Marvel actors to film other projects in between.” The scooper recently revealed that cameras will keep rolling Judgment Day from March to August next year, with Spider Man 4 Production will reportedly begin in May and filming will continue until October.

Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on May 1, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027. Both films will be directed by the Russo brothers, who are returning to their MCU after helming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War And Avengers: Endgame.

“Being able to create stories and explore characters within the Marvel Universe fulfilled a lifelong dream of ours, and we discovered a powerful connection with audiences in every film we made. We are thrilled to once again partner with Kevin, Lou and the entire Marvel team to take this epic story adventure to new and surprising places for both the fans and ourselves.” The Russos said in a statement after the SDCC panel.

The filmmakers have revealed this Judgment Day And Secret Wars won’t be shooting back-to-back at NYCC last week.

“It will be similar, but we will have a bigger break between the two films than before,” said Joe. “I think it was maybe four weeks? Was there four weeks between Infinity War and Endgame?”

“I think it was a few weeks.” Anthony added. “But no, these are not as separated as you would normally separate two films of this magnitude, but they are more substantially separated (than Infinity War and Endgame) by about a year.”
