Davis Bertans to train for Warriors

Free agent ahead Davis Bertans has been invited to work for the Warriorstweet Marc Stein.. Bertans hopes for an invitation to a training camp.

Bertans became a free agent when the Hornets released him in early July. He had a $16 million salary for 2024-25, but only $5.25 million of that total was guaranteed before Charlotte let him go.

Bertans, 31, was traded from the Thunder to the Hornets midway through the 2023-24 season. Gordon Hayward trade. He saw his role expand on a lottery-bound Charlotte team, averaging 8.8 points on a .394/.375/.889 shooting line in 28 appearances.

Bertans, once one of the league’s most sought-after stretch fours, signed a five-year, $80 million contract in 2020.

He played one full and one partial season with Washington after being re-signed, then was traded to Dallas. He came off the bench for 1 1/2 seasons with the Mavericks, then was traded to the Thunder in an offseason trade. He played in 15 limited games with OKC before being traded to the Hornets.

Bertans is a career 39.6% 3-point shooter. He has averaged 7.7 points in 18.0 minutes in 475 career games.
