David Ferrer shares very nice words for Carlos Alcaraz

There is no rest for tennis players and fans. It is immediately time for the Davis Cupwith the four qualifying rounds for the final taking place from Tuesday 10th to Sunday 15th. One of the most cited teams to have earned a place in the final in Malaga is certainly Spain.

Placed in Group B with Australia, France and the Czech Republic, the Spaniards have the advantage of playing at home, in Valencia, the venue chosen for the matches of the toughest and most balanced group. The captain, David Ferrer, expressed his feelings in view of the debut, praising his star and most anticipated protagonist, and sharing the happiness of being able to count on the 4-time Grand Slam champion Carlitos Alcaraz.

“A player with Carlos’ qualities is something everyone would love to have and we are lucky that Carlos has committed to be here in Valencia. We have a good team, not only Carlos. Marcelo Granollers is the number one in doubles, Roberto Bautista, Pablo Carreno, Pedro Martinez, who has had a great year,” he explained.

“The first impressions were good. I saw the players very enthusiastic and there was a good team atmosphere. Also the fact that we are playing in Valencia, at home, can help a lot,” he explained.

Ferrer, a three-time champion as a player with his national team in the Davis Cup, concluded with an analysis of the group in which Spain was drawn: “Of the four groups, ours is the most difficult. The first qualifying phase is very important to understand how to approach the other phases. Doubles are fundamental in this format of the Davis Cup and we are lucky to have a player like Granollers.”
