Davante Adams on DeSean Jackson comments: ‘Bulls–t’ to say I’m unhappy with Raiders | News, scores, highlights, stats & rumors

Davante Adams is not unhappy with the Las Vegas Raiders, or so he says.

“Whatever you see, if it’s not firsthand, it’s probably nonsense,” he told reporters Wednesday. “… Whatever’s been put out there lately, it’s complete nonsense. … As far as me being angry or unhappy in this organization, it’s just a bunch of nonsense that’s designed to upset everybody. … If I was pissed off, I wouldn’t be here.”

Adams also criticized former NFL wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

“I’ve probably talked to DeSean Jackson three or four times in my life, and I’ve never had a conversation with him,” he said. “I put that on my kids. I’ve never talked to him about anything. The only person I really talk to about my feelings is my wife, and she doesn’t leak anything.”

The comments came after Jackson on The Herd with Colin Cowherd (thanks to Michael Canelo of Sports Illustrated) and said Adams was not happy in Las Vegas.

“It’s tough because Davante and I have talked about it and I hate to do it because I don’t want to be the guy that says, ‘Oh, D-Jax said this and said that,’ but at the end of the day he’s not happy,” Jackson said. “I mean, you go from Aaron Rodgers, then you go to the Las Vegas Raiders and not only Jimmy G (Garoppolo), you had your boy (Derek) Carr. It didn’t really work out the way you thought it would, you know, from the Fresno State days. … It just didn’t work out. So now I just don’t think he’s really happy there.”

Rumors about Adams and the Raiders aren’t new, but he did emphasize that he’s happy with the AFC West team.

He is contracted to Las Vegas through the 2026 campaign and led the league with 14 touchdown catches in his first season with the team in 2022. Although he regressed a bit last year, he was still among the league’s best with 103 catches for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns.

Fans and commentators can easily speculate about Adams, as he began his career with future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers, who threw the ball to him for the Green Bay Packers.

The Raiders started Gardner Minshew II this year after he won a quarterback competition against Aidan O’Connell, which is not exactly Rodgers’ game.

Still, Adams stressed that he is not unhappy and is ready to start the season on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
