Dates Set for the Nemaha County Fair

The fair season is fast approaching. The fair dates are from Thursday 25th July to Monday 29th July.

The Nemaha County Fair begins on Thursday morning with the poultry and rabbit show, followed by the horse show at 5:30 p.m. in the horse arena.

Friday’s events include registration for all Open Class and 4-H exhibits by 10:00 a.m., followed by judging of all exhibits in the Community Building and Open Class. All 4-H food exhibits will be sold to the public starting at 9:00 a.m. and there will be lots of great pies and breads to choose from. A Pork Barbecue by the Pork Producers will begin at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to purchase the 4-Hers’ Decorated Cakes and Breadbaskets at 6:00 p.m. in the show arena. The Hog Show will begin at 6:30 p.m. The evening entertainment will be Muttin Bustin at 7:30 p.m., followed by the Kraft Rodeo in the Horse Arena.

Saturday is packed with livestock shows, starting with the Dairy Show at 8 a.m., followed by the Sheep and Meat Goat Show. Don’t miss the Bucket Calf show at 1 p.m. The 4-H Council will be hosting a BBQ Beef Meal starting at 6 p.m. in the show arena, and the Beef Show starts at 6:30 p.m.

Other things happening Saturday include Food Trucks in Skoch Park from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Entertainment will be available in Skoch Park starting at 3 p.m. The 4-H Ambassadors will be selling Root Beer Floats that night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Muttin Bustin starts at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Kraft Rodeo in the Horse Arena. There will also be a free concert in Skoch Park featuring the Travis Gibson Band.

Sunday’s events include Food Trucks and Carnival Games in Skoch Park. The 4-H Fashion Revue will be held in the Community Building starting at 1:30 p.m. You don’t have to be a 4-Her to play the Barnyard Olympics in the arena at 2:30 p.m. The annual parade will begin at 6 p.m. this year with the theme “Summer Nights, Arena Lights.” Topeka Drumline will march in the parade and perform in Skoch Park after the parade. The evening will end with Team Penning in the Horse Area.

Monday’s activities include the Hand Pet Show first in the Community Building. In the arena, there is a Livestock Judging Contest in the morning and at 1:00 p.m. there is a Round Robin Showmanship Contest. This is where the best showmen of each breed compete. The Sabetha FFA Alumni will have dinner in the show arena and the Livestock Premium Auction will begin at 7:00 p.m.

All 4-H and Open Class exhibits will be released on Monday at 3:00 PM.

The 4-H Council has a vendor booth open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. with a full menu in the community building.

The public is invited to view all exhibitions in the Community Building on Friday, Saturday and Monday from 8am to 10pm and on Sunday from 9am to 10pm.
