‘Dancing With The Stars’ Recruits Stephen Nedoroscik for 33rd Season

He’s a master on the pommel horse. But what’s his cha cha like?

We will soon find out if Olympian Stephen Nedoroscik is able to win the mirror ball: Good morning America revealed this morning that he will be joining the 33rd season of ABC’s Dancing with the stars.

When Nedoroscik’s participation in the dance competition was revealed on GMA, the segment began with the bronze medalist performing a floor exercise in which he showed off his famous horse riding skills.

Nedoroscik became a media darling during the Paris Olympics, when cameras captured him sitting on the sidelines meditating while waiting for his turn on the horse.

He said on GMA that he might need to continue his pre-performance meditation routine Dancing with the stars. “I think so, actually,” he said. “It’s kind of what I do to calm myself down, so I’ll probably take that to the dance floor.”

Nedoroscik also said that he might wear his famous Clark Kent glasses while dancing in the show, but that he would “have fun with it” by coming up with a device to keep them in place.

The Penn State alum not only won an individual bronze medal for his performance, but also helped the U.S. men’s gymnastics team to its first team medal (bronze) in 16 years.

Given his popularity, there has been speculation that Nedoroscik’s next stop in the DWTS ballroom, where he would become the first male gymnast ever to wear Danskins.

The rest of the Season 33 cast will be announced at a later date.

Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough return as co-hosts, while Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough will once again judge the competition. DWTS returns on September 17 at 8:00 PM EDT.

Dancing with the stars is produced before a live audience by BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions.
