Curious penguin takes a ride with a bodyboarder from Cape Town

One thing you will find in the coastal towns and cities are surfers and bodyboarders.

Some of the best waves are found around South Africa’s coasts and surfing is a popular hobby in Cape Town.

While it may be a favorite pastime for locals, some animals are starting to get in on the action as well.

A video recently went viral showing a little animal friend getting a little too curious and excited about his human bodyboarding friend.

The video, shared on social media, was captured by an unknown source and shows a bodyboarder in the water.

On top of the man’s game board is a black and white penguin!

The penguin seems extremely interested and curious about the inanimate object.

As the man holds his board, the penguin continues to casually walk past it, seemingly enjoying himself.

As cool as the video may be, many people shared comments about why the penguin might have come out of the water:

• “If a penguin jumps on your board, you might want to think about getting out of the water too.”
• “Then I’d wonder what the penguin was hiding from. 🦈”

Luckily, it looks like the two just had a nice swim together.
