CSK coach wants Rohit Sharma to lead ‘ego battle’ ahead of IND vs ENG, T20 World Cup 2024 Semis

CSK coach and New Zealand legend Stephen Fleming highlighted how skipper Rohit Sharma has played a crucial role in avoiding ego clashes between India’s best all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel. The Men in Blue will next take on England in the semi-final of the ongoing 2024 T20 World Cup in Guyana.

Axar Patel And Ravindra Jadeja have played in each of India’s six matches in this ongoing World Cup. When the team was picked, hardly anyone expected captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid to take this approach. Since Jadeja and Axar have similar skills, India has typically alternated between the two all-rounders for almost a decade.

The Indian team selection has ensured that both Jadeja and Axar retained their places in the XI. In fact, they were the only two spinners that India fielded for all their group stage matches in New York, leaving no room for Kuldeep Yadav.

C.S.K coach Stefan Flemingwho has closely observed Ravindra Jadeja during the IPL, noted that he is capable of executing a game-changing spell unexpectedly.
