Cristiano Ronaldo: 900 career goals – the numbers behind the Portuguese striker’s milestone

Ronaldo is now 39 and time is no longer on his side, but the veteran is determined to keep playing until he reaches 1,000 career goals.

In an interview on his YouTube channel, he speaks to his former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand, externalRonaldo said he was confident he could reach this milestone within the next few years.

“I want to achieve 1,000 goals,” he said.

“If I don’t have any injuries, that’s the most important thing for me. That’s what I want.”

“All the goals I scored are on video.”

Ronaldo could play until he is 40 and there is much speculation as to whether he will still play for Portugal at the 2026 World Cup.

But he said that was not a priority, adding: “Portugal winning the Euros is like winning a World Cup. I have already won two trophies for Portugal that I really wanted.

“I’m not motivated by it. I’m motivated by the joy of football and the records come by themselves.”
