Crash into pole results in serious injury, Norfolk bushfire

NORFOLK, CT (WFSB) – A car crashed into a utility pole on West Greenwoods Rd. on Friday evening.

The car accident caused the pole to land on the power lines, causing a forest fire on both sides of the road.

According to Norfolk Public Information Officer Jon Barbagallo, 5 acres have burned so far. The fire is now under control.

Police have not identified anyone involved.

State police said the crash caused serious injuries. One person was transported by Life Star for treatment.

Greenwoods Rd. is closed due to the incident. The police are conducting further investigations at the scene.

Earlier Friday, Governor Lamont declared a state of emergency due to critical fire conditions in Connecticut.
