Controversial rock star’s wife breaks silence as rumors swirl that he abuses her

It’s been a very interesting week for popular metalcore band As I Lay Dying, and not in a good way.

Three members of the band – guitarist Ken Susi, bassist Ryan Neff and drummer Nick Pierce – all headed for the exit and what they had to say on the way out was interesting. The band’s tour manager, Alex Kendrick, also left the group.

That left only frontman Tim Lambesis and guitarist Phil Sgrosso hanging around to keep the band alive.

And that, and Lambesis’ controversial past, have apparently started the social media rumor mill.

Lambesis was, of course, arrested in 2013 after allegedly trying to hire an undercover cop to kill his wife. He was found guilty and sentenced to six years in prison.

And when the band broke up this past week, there were apparently rumors that Lambesis was abusing his current wife, Dany. We know because Dany discussed it all on Instagram.

“I am writing this statement to address the recent rumors circulating on social media regarding my husband, Tim Lambesis, and the allegations of domestic violence. It has come to my attention that false claims have been made indicating that my husband has caused me harm.

“I want to make it unequivocally clear that these allegations are completely false,” she continued. “My husband has never harmed me in this manger, and I am deeply saddened by the unfounded rumors that have emerged during this challenging time for his band. There has never been an incident that warrants such accusations. We have had our relationship problems like many other couples, but nothing to the extent of domestic violence or what is portrayed online.

She said she is “deeply saddened” to have to address the situation because of “outright lies.”

“It’s completely unfair that everything has spread like this and no one has even considered my voice being heard through it. This is unfair to both Tim and me and our relationship.

“It is disheartening to see how quickly misinformation can spread and the impact it can have on individuals and families,” she continued. “I ask that you respect our privacy during this time and not perpetuate these damaging rumors.”

This comes just a day after Susi left, and Billboard said that he issued a statement Thursday after his departure.

“My time with As I Lay Dying came to an end today,” he wrote. “I leave with so much gratitude for everyone who has followed and supported me from my days in Unearth to this era of my career. I jumped into the AILD camp with full knowledge of the heightened dramatic history, but had the drive to just play great music with great friends.

“Unfortunately, my personal morals have recently been tested to a breaking point,” he added. “And it’s not the saddest ending to what could have been this band’s greatest second chance.”

Neff was the first member to leave the band, and Susi said he regretted “not sharing this decision sooner and standing confidently by my friend – he is an impeccable musician and an even better human being.”

Neff said his choice came “after much thought,” and Pierce wrote that this was “far from the ending I expected, and I feel I must distance myself from the band in an effort to maintain my personal health and integrity.” ‘

As I Lay Dying has a history of huge success, but in 2013, Lambesis was sentenced to prison for trying to hire a hitman to kill his then-wife, according to Billboard. The site said he had served two years of a six-year sentence.

Billboard said that, Despite the band’s uncertain future, the band’s eighth album, ‘Through Storms Ahead’, will be released on November 15.
