Conor McGregor posts an x-ray of a broken pinky toe, mocked mercilessly by fans and fellow UFC fighters

Conor McGregor likely thought that getting X-rays on his broken pinky toe would confirm his decision to withdraw from the UFC 303 pay-per-view (PPV) main event on June 29 in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, it only disgusted fans who were already aggravated and who seem to be fed up with investing in his ‘Notorious’ comeback, which drags on almost three years after his last entry.

Here’s some feedback from his latest Twitter update:

It is so minimal that you have to point it out on the x-ray.

Oh no, Chandler has Conor in a pinky lock! He tapped! He tapped!

Meanwhile, “Poatan” steps in to save the day UFC303 with the same injury.

Alcohol weakens the bones.

Withdrawn due to a broken toe? This isn’t the McGregor we knew.

But you’re still okay with drinking whiskey and partying?

The press conference canceled for a toe?

That little pig went all the way home.

This turned out badly.

Following his withdrawal, the promotion brought in UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira – who is currently dealing with his own broken toe – to defend his 205-pound belt against former division titleholder Jiri Prochazka.

McGregor’s fellow UFC fighters seemed even less impressed with the injury update, including reigning UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.

“You don’t need a pinky finger for a fight, lol chicken,” Makhachev (or manager Ali Abdelaziz, who is routinely accused of posting on behalf of fighters) wrote on Twitter. “And my condolences to Michael ‘Hachiko’ Chandler.”

Hachiko was a Japanese Akita dog who traveled to the train station every day for nine years, waiting for his late owner to come home from work. Likewise, Chandler has chosen to sideline himself in hopes of securing his own “red panty night.”

From ‘forever’ to ‘Forgotten’.

“Chandler will be paid 10x what is in his contract for other fights,” McGregor added. “This means he would have to fight ten fights to make what he would make in this one. I am ‘The One.’ For those saying he could have fought two or three times now, etc., he would need 10 to break even on this check.

A timeline for McGregor’s UFC return has yet to be determined.
