Conor McGregor is embroiled in a heated online feud with the enemy’s old manager

Conor McGregor has been embroiled in an online altercation with Ali Abdelaziz, the manager of former McGregor opponent and old foe Khabib Nurmagomedov.

McGregor has long been at odds with Abdelaziz and anyone associated with Khabib following their heated UFC lightweight title fight in 2018, which was marred by unsavory scenes during the build-up and after the fight itself.

Tensions between McGregor and Khabib/Abdelaziz have simmered in the intervening six years since that meeting, and flared up again on social media this week after a series of attacks in Dagestan on Sunday. Gunmen opened fire on numerous places of worship and police traffic controls in the cities of Derbent and Makhachkala, resulting in the deaths of 15 police officers, including four civilians, including an Orthodox priest, according to authorities.

One of the men named by Russian authorities as the perpetrator of an attack on a place of worship is former MMA fighter Gadzhimurad Kagirov. Kagirov – who trained at Eagles MMA, which was founded by Nurmagomedov in 2016 – was reportedly killed by authorities after the attack.

In a series of since-deleted tweets, McGregor criticized Nurmagomedov for his association with Kagirov, with the only tweet still available to read being #conorwasright.

In response to McGregor, Abdelaziz wrote: “I can’t wait to see you and spit in your face you bitch.”
