Colorado is still in the mix for the one QB Shedeur Sanders wants as his replacement

Colorado Football is still in the mix to land Carrollton star and current USC signing Julian Lewis; lone quarterback Shedeur Sanders wants to actively replace him under center in Boulder next year and beyond.

Per To3the next two weekends, Oct. 12 against K-State at Folsom Field and Oct. 19 against Arizona in Tuscon, will see the Buffs host Lewis, Colorado commit Quanell X Farrakhan Jr., Alex Graham, Antonio Branch Jr., Zayne DeSouza and Corbin Laisure .

There are a lot of juniors on that list, showing that the family affair in Boulder will continue after Coach Prime’s kids move on to the NFL. But Lewis could be the next player who sees Sanders as a son in the same vein as Travis Hunter.

Shedeur stated that whoever is the next QB will be seen as Sanders’ son, but it “should” be Lewis.

“You know, Julian is coming, he might take the reins, but I wouldn’t be mad about that,” Sanders said. To SI’s Kris Miller. “Whoever the next quarterback is, it should be Julian, but he’ll be just like his new son.”

Is it a perfect recruitment pitch from Shedeur? Yes and no. It depends. Putting all your eggs in one basket is always a dangerous proposition, but if it works, Colorado will be in good hands for years to come.

A media outlet pushes the story forward that Coach Prime isn’t long for Colorado anymore, no matter where you look.

If Lewis were to commit to the Buffs, that narrative would come to a standstill.

CU is in a position to build something sustainable in Boulder. In the modern era of recruiting, a pillar QB is what you need to start with.

Lewis is him. Let’s see if he can be convinced that Colorado is the best place to be the architect of something great.
