Colombian Football Federation President and Son Arrested After Copa America Final

(Reuters) – Ramon Jesurun, the head of Colombia’s football federation, and his son Ramon Jamil Jesurun have been arrested in Miami after a dramatic Copa America final in which ticketless fans tried to enter the stadium, media reports and prison records said.

Sunday’s final, which Colombia lost to Argentina, kicked off more than an hour late after police imposed a lockdown that trapped hundreds of fans outside Hard Rock Stadium in Florida. Videos on social media showed security battling fans trying to breach the gates.

Florida-based news outlet Local10 cited a police report that said the two were accused of fighting with security guards after the game.

The Colombian Football Federation declined to comment.
