Cold front moving Friday morning; weekend forecast for Fort Collins

After a period of warm weather, a weak cold front will move into Northern Colorado Friday morning, dropping high temperatures by about 10 degrees from Thursday, the National Weather Service said.

October is also the month when Fort Collins’ low normal temperature, an average of data from 1991 through 2020, drops below freezing.

Despite the cold front, temperatures are forecast to be several degrees warmer than normal this weekend. This is what the daily maximum and minimum historical temperatures look like this month:

Here’s the full weekend weather forecast for the city:

  • Friday: Partly sunny with a high around 74 and a low around 45; wind speeds up to 7 km/hour.
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high around 83 and a low around 45; wind gusts up to 17 km/h.
  • Sunday: Sunny with a high around 72 and a low around 40; wind gusts up to 18 km/h.
