Where can I watch León’s match?

To follow Liga MX, a fair knowledge of the various services and channels in the US is required.

Many games (including all of León’s home games) can be found on TelevisaUnivision channels – that’s Univision, UniMás and TUDN in the US. Games can also be broadcast on their Spanish streaming service ViX.

However, when León plays away against Chivas, those matches will be exclusively on Telemundo and streamed via Peacock.

Select matches will be broadcast on FOX Deportes and/or FS1 or FS2. FS1 and FS2 are the only places where you can find English language coverage of the competition.

Both Fubo and DirecTV Stream offer all TV networks that broadcast Liga MX matches.

The CONCACAF Champions Cup can be seen on FOX Sports.

For Leagues Cup, every match is available on MLS Season Pass. A small selection of these matches (from 2023 onwards) will also be broadcast on FOX and Univision TV networks.

History of León

Club León was founded in 1944, in what was then the Liga Mayor. They are based in the city of León in central Mexico, about 200 miles northwest of Mexico City.

Léon managed to stay in the top division until the end of the 80s, but quickly returned to the first division in 1990. In the 2000s, the club fluctuated between the top two divisions, before finally returning to the Liga MX in 2012.

The club’s first title came in 1948, and since then they have won the competition seven more times (three times in the split-season Apertura/Clausura era). Seven times they have finished runners-up.

They have won the Copa MX five times and the Leagues Cup (before it became an official CONCACAF tournament) once, in 2021. The club’s highest honour came in 2023 when they defeated Los Angeles FC to win the CONCACAF Champions League (now Champions Cup).

León plays home games at the 31,297-seater Estadio León, nicknamed the Nou Camp (after Barcelona’s famous stadium). Built in 1967, it hosted matches in both the 1970 and 1986 World Cups, as well as some matches from the 1968 Mexico City Olympics.
