Mike Palm, Circa Sports Vice President of Operations, made a late attempt to stop Matthew Sluka from leaving UNLV over a disputed NIL payment that had not been made.

Palm told the Action Network’s Brett McMurphy that he contacted UNLV officials on Wednesday to ask if Circa Sports, a resort and casino headquartered in Las Vegas, would avoid paying the $100,000 Sluka allegedly owed could make up for the fact that he was leaving the program.

McMurphy noted that a school official told Palm that Sluka was no longer participating in the program and that they would “no longer do business with the Sluka family.”

Sluka announced early Wednesday morning that he was using his redshirt year and would sit out the remaining games of this season due to promised “commitments that would not be honored in the future” after agreeing to participate in the program “based on certain representations that had been done to him.” me” during his recruitment.
