Chukwumerije Foundation brings taekwondo to schools

In In light of the recently concluded Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Chika Chukwumerije Sports Foundation (CCSF), supported by the French Embassy in Nigeria and the French Institute, is organising a workshop at the Springhall British School, FCT Abuja on Wednesday 25 September.

The closed workshop called ‘Inspire the Future’ is part of a series of sporting activities in various schools in Nigeria organised by the French Embassy to demonstrate its dynamism in the period of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

According to the organizers, the aim of the workshop is to inspire, inform and educate the young participants on the topics of ‘The Olympic Games, Taekwondo and Self-Defense’.

The workshop, which will be based on the theme of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, “Excellence, Respect and Friendship”, will be led by Chika Chukwumerije, the captain of the Nigerian team at the London 2012 Olympic Games and a medallist at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Sixty students have confirmed they will attend the closed workshop, which will include basic self-defense training for girls and an introduction to taekwondo, the values ​​of the Olympic Games and the history of the Nigerian Taekwondo Olympics.
