Christian Pulisic, captain of the US soccer team, has a home in Florida

The United States national soccer team is based in Jupiter.

Christian Pulisic, the star player and captain of the U.S. national soccer team, is one of many famous athletes who live in or near Palm Beach County.

Pulisic, whose skilled footwork while playing in England earned him the nickname “Captain America,” is associated with a limited liability company that bought a four-bedroom house in the 19000 block of Wilkinson Leas Road in Jupiter.

Pulisic scored a goal and provided an assist in his team’s opening match in the Copa America tournament on Sunday, June 23, as the US team defeated Bolivia 2-0. The American team will play against Panama on Thursday, June 27.

The Jupiter home, purchased for $1.8 million in early 2020, is located in a gated community on the north fork of the Loxahatchee River. It includes a dock, a swimming pool and a putting green, which can be seen in at least one video on Pulisic’s Instagram account.

The house was previously purchased in May 2012 for $1.06 million. National real estate company Redfin now estimates its value at $3.3 million.

The 2020 Jupiter purchase was made under the company name CMP Resolute 2. Pulisic’s middle name is Mate, with his initials CMP. The company’s manager is listed as Kelley Pulisic, Christian Pulisic’s mother.

Pulisic also registered to vote using the Jupiter address in June.

The Palm Beach County Property Appraiser also lists CMP Resolute 2 as the owner of an unincorporated home in Wellington and a condominium in the Village of Wellington. The house at Hawk Holw was purchased in September 2021 for $3 million. The condominium, located on Greenview Shores Boulevard, was purchased in September 2022 for $293,500.

“It’s the weather,” Echo Fine Properties President Jeff Lichtenstein said of what attracts athletes to Palm Beach County and South Florida in general. “If they are mainly from South America or Mexico, Miami could be an attractive area for them.”

But the lack of a state income tax could also be a draw.

Who is Christian Pulisic?

Originally from Hershey, Pennsylvania, Pulisic is a soccer prodigy who started playing for the German youth team Borussia Dortmund at the age of 16.

Pulisic, 25, agreed to a $73 million transfer from Dortmund to Chelsea Football Club in 2019, making him the highest-paid American soccer player of all time, according to the Wall Street Journal. He moved to Premier League team AC Milan (Italy) in 2023.

When it was announced that the 2026 World Cup would be played at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Pulisic said he was looking forward to the games in Miami because his family had moved to the area.

Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, and Wayne Gretzky… They could live anywhere in the world. At one point or another, they’ve all lived here (or currently live here). Here’s a rundown of the GOATs (Greatest Of All Time) and their connection to Palm Beach County.

Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus are the best golfers

Jack Nicklaus, better known as The Golden Bear, has long had ties to Palm Beach County, having moved here in 1966. He has lived in the same house in North Palm Beach for more than 50 years.

He won 120 professional events, 73 of them on the PGA Tour, including a best-ever 18 majors, and was runner-up in another 19 majors.

Today, Nicklaus runs one of the world’s largest golf course design and construction companies. He and his wife Barbara also run the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation, which promotes and improves child care for children locally and globally.

On the golf course, only Tiger Woods comes close to Nicklaus’ numbers, with 15 majors and 10 second-place finishes.

Tiger Woods has won five green jackets, from his 1997 Masters victory to his surprise win at Augusta in 2019. He is tied for first in PGA Tour wins (sam Snead).

His ties to Florida are strong: Woods lives in an oceanfront mansion on Jupiter Island, on the Palm Beach County-Martin County line. The house has a golf course in the backyard. Woods owns The Woods Jupiter at Harborside Place in Jupiter, is co-owner of PopStroke (a family-friendly luxury putting and dining attraction with a miniature golf course designed by the sports phenom) and is co-founder (along with a fellow Jupiter resident and pro golf Rory McIlroy) of TGL golf, a technology-fused golf league launching in January 2025 and whose arena will be located in Palm Beach Gardens.

Serena Williams is the GOAT of women’s tennis

The greatest women’s tennis player of all time has 73 singles titles and 23 Grand Slam singles titles. She was ranked No. 1 for 319 weeks. She holds the record for most singles tennis matches won at the US Open with 108. Williams has been a force on the court since turning pro at age 14 and lives in Jupiter.

She retired two years ago and has made the transition from the sports world to business, especially fashion. The fashion icon launched a women’s tennis apparel brand, a “be unapologetic you” jewelry line and a makeup line.

Williams and her sister, fellow tennis champion Venus Williams (Venus has won 49 singles titles and Serena 73) were also the inspiration for the sports drama “King Richard.” Will Smith, who played the Williams sisters’ tennis coach in the film, won an Academy Award for the role.

Wayne Gretzky is the GOAT of hockey

He is already known as The Great One.

Professional hockey’s greatest Wayne Gretzky is the NHL’s all-time leading scorer and holds the all-time record with 894.

Gretzky, who played most of his career with the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings, held 61 NHL records when he retired in 1999. During his career, he appeared in 18 All-Star games and won four Stanley Cups.

Gretzky and his wife Janet live in Jupiter, and their daughter Paulina and her husband, golfer Dustin Johnson, also live in northern Palm Beach County.

Michael Jordan is the GOAT of basketball

There’s no doubt about it, Michael “Air” Jordan is an incredible bull and the greatest of all time in basketball.

The Chicago Bulls’ legendary number 23 won six titles with coach Phil Jackson, taking home Finals MVP honors all six times. Jordan helped the team win four NBA titles in six years and scored a career-high 69 points in the Bulls’ 117-113 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1993.

Jordan is also an Olympic gold medalist. He, Larry Bird (Boston Celtics) and Magic Johnson (LA Lakers) helped give the US team the nickname “The Dream Team” in 1992.

Jordan announced his retirement from basketball on October 6, 1993, shortly after his father passed away. But his retirement was short-lived. He stunned the sports world when he switched from basketball to baseball. The legend played minor league ball with the Chicago White Sox from 1994-95. He was retired for 18 months before returning to the NBA with the message: “I’m back.”

Over the course of his career, Jordan was named to 14 All-Star teams. After three seasons away, he played two seasons with the Washington Wizards, in whom he had an ownership stake, from 2001-2002.

Like many other GOATs on this list, Jordan became a pop culture icon. He appeared on Wheaties cereal boxes, turned the game into sneakers with his Air Jordans and starred in a movie (remember the original 1996’s “Space Jam” starring Bill Murray and Bugs Bunny?).

He recently starred in the docuseries “The Last Dance.” The documentary follows Jordan and the Bulls during their 1997-98 championship season, looking back at the best footage from their run to a sixth title.
