Chipotle And Spirit Halloween Release Outdated Meme Costume

This Halloween, Chipotle want to spice it up a bit and do more than just feed customers; they want to dress them too.

The burrito maker has teamed up with Spirit Halloween, North America’s largest Halloween retailer, to launch its first-ever costume collection, the company said in a statement Wednesday. The publicity stunt is inspired by the viral costume memes both brands have tapped into in recent years.

Starting September 6, customers can get their hands on a costume that pays homage to some of Chipotle’s iconic (and not so iconic) items, including: a napkin, fork, water cup, burrito, and to-go bag. Each unitard costs $40 and comes in sizes from adult small to XL.

The unitards, or full-body suits, are available for purchase on Spirit Halloween’s website and at select locations in the U.S., including Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, New York and Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. Customers in Canada can purchase a costume online, while supplies last.

Through the collaboration, the companies are trying to improve the somewhat dated quirky costume memes inspired by Spirit Halloween Bags. Two years ago, Chipotle jumped on the bandwagon with a fictional “Chipotle fork” and a “Chipotle napkin” unitardwhich collectively generated more than 700,000 online interactions, the company said.

But that’s not all — Chipotle says it has another “scarily good deal” in store for customers next month, but those details are still under wraps. The company once gave away free food to customers who dressed in aluminum foil — like a burrito — on Oct. 31, but the company has since watered down that promotion in a partial discount.

Let’s take a look at the five unitards Chipotle is offering this Halloween:
