Chiefs-Ravens NFL Kickoff Game Postponed Due to Weather

Football fans have been anticipating Thursday night’s NFL Kickoff Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens for months.

They will have to wait a little longer.

A thunderstorm that passed through the area forced authorities to clear the field. Due to lightning strikes around GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, kickoff of the AFC Championship rematch has been delayed until 8:40 p.m. Eastern Time.

In the hour before the scheduled kick-off, officials cleared the field and asked fans to come into the hall due to the weather in the area:

Shortly after that announcement, the storm passed through the area, but the league announced that the scheduled kick-off was postponed until 8:40 p.m.:
