Carson Steele is hoping to make the Kansas City Chiefs roster, and the rookie running back helped him out on Thursday.

Midway through the third quarter, the UCLA player had four carries for 50 rushing yards and a touchdown run, looking like he was ready for the NFL.

After another solid game from Steele, fans demanded that Steele be given a spot on the Chiefs’ 53-player roster.

The Chiefs took a risk signing Steele after he went undrafted this year, and he could be this year’s undrafted success story. He had a strong college career, rushing for 3,232 yards and 26 touchdowns in his two years at Ball State and one year at UCLA, including a season in which he collected 1,556 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.

In his first practice game, Steele had 29 rushing yards and a touchdown on just four carries.

Kansas City has a strong running back department featuring Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire, but Steele has shown he can match up against NFL talent and could be a key player for the Chiefs.
