Chicago Bulls select Matas Buzelis at No. 11 in the 2024 NBA draft

The Chicago Bulls selected Matas Buzelis with the No. 11 pick in the 2024 NBA draft on Wednesday night.

Buzelis, 19, is a 6-foot-1 forward currently playing in the developmental G League. He grew up in Hinsdale, the son of parents who both played professional basketball in Lithuania before emigrating to the United States. He played briefly at Hinsdale Central before transferring to high schools in New Hampshire and Kansas.

The Atlanta Hawks selected Zaccharie Risacher with the No. 1 pick. The Bulls remained in the draft despite reports that they were considering several trades to move their position.

The Bulls already began shaking up their roster by trading Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder last week for guard Josh Giddey.

This will continue to be an uncertain summer for the team after management announced changes following two consecutive seasons without a play-off spot.

The Bulls are continuing negotiations with DeMar DeRozan and Patrick Williams to re-sign — and could continue to acquire Zach LaVine, who missed most of last season with a foot injury.
