Cheryl Hines hints at RFK Jr. sexting ‘rumors’ in the first interview since the scandal

Cheryl Hines appeared to allude to husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s sexting scandal. during a red carpet this weekend.

The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actor remained largely tight-lipped as she spoke to the press for the first time since news of her husband’s “inappropriate personal relationship” with journalist Olivia Nuzzi broke in mid-September.

At the Groundlings 50th Anniversary Event in Los Angeles on Saturday, Hines told Us Weekly that she was dealing with “a lot of emotions” over the “rumors” circulating.

The comedian added: “But it will all be in my book. I am writing a book. I took notes – serious notes!”

Hines, who wore her wedding ring at the event, also spoke to People at the celebration for the improv troupe.

When asked how she was doing, she told the magazine that she was “feeling good” about life. However, the ‘Suburgatory’ star did not directly address the alleged affair.

Reports that RFK Jr. and Nuzzi, a well-connected political reporter, were involved in a sexually explicit text message relationship, first appeared last month in journalist Oliver Darcy’s newsletter, Status.

Nuzzi’s employer, New York magazine, later announced that she was being placed on leave for failing to disclose her personal relationship with the former independent candidate for president, whom she profiled for the publication in November 2023.

In a statement, the outlet told readers: “Had the magazine been aware of this relationship, it would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign.”

On Monday, New York magazine announced that Nuzzi is permanently leaving the outlet.

Nuzzi acknowledged in a statement that she had a personal relationship with one of her subjects, although she did not name Kennedy. She claimed the romance was “never physical.”

Although Kennedy has denied reports of the affair, multiple publications claimed that Hines was considering a divorce in the wake of the sexting scandal.

But the couple appeared to be on strong terms in early October, when they were seen holding hands at the Kennedy family estate in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, following the death of RFK Jr.’s mother, Ethel Kennedy.
