Cheryl Hines breaks silence on RFK Jr.’s wedding after Olivia Nuzzi’s sexting scandal

Cheryl Hines revealed that she is writing a book about the “rumors” she and her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., have faced amid his alleged sexting scandal with political reporter Olivia Nuzzi.

“A lot of emotions with rumors!” the actress told Us Weekly at Saturday’s Groundlings 50th Anniversary Event in Los Angeles while wearing her wedding ring.

“But it will all be in my book. I am writing a book. I took notes – serious notes!”

Amid the gossip surrounding her 10-year marriage, Hines said she’s focused on having “a lot of fun with (her) family.”

‘They’re nice. I mean, if I had a boring family, it would be hard,” she said. “And I think you just try to embrace the unknown and instead of fighting it, you try to embrace it and just say yes to whatever comes your way.”

The “RV” star explained that she tries to focus on the “little moments and not take anything too seriously.”

“Even though I am in very serious situations!” Hines, 59, added.

Hines shares 20-year-old daughter Catherine Rose with ex-husband Paul Young, while Kennedy has children Bobby, 40, Kathleen, 36, Conor, 30, Kyra, 29, Willian, 26, and Aidan, 23, from previous relationships.

Elsewhere in the interview, the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star also opened up about the secret to a long-lasting marriage and moving past the “crazy” moments with her husband.

“There has to be a connection,” she told Us Weekly.

“There’s a connection between you looking at your husband or your partner and all these crazy things going on around you, or you looking and checking in and saying, ‘Okay.’ It’ll be fine. We’re going to live through this moment. ”

She continued, “And you know, a lot of times it’s funny and you can lean over and say, ‘These are crazy balls,’ and have a moment together and then hold your head up and move on to the next thing.”

Hines also reflected on the beginning of her romance with Kennedy in 2011, explaining that they learned how to deal with life’s curveballs.

“When I met Bobby, I said, ‘Did you never want to go into politics?’ and he said, ‘No, I feel like I can do more work as an environmental lawyer and I don’t have to. I am not beholden to any companies or corporations,” she explained.

“I thought, ‘Great. This is going to be great!’ And then life gives you a left turn, a right turn, whatever it turns out to be.

Last year, the 70-year-old Kennedy launched his 2024 presidential bid, but withdrew from the election in August and endorsed Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Hines acknowledged that while politics can lead to a lot of mixed feelings, she doesn’t allow her husband’s career to get in the way of their bond.

“People have a lot of feelings about politics, especially in Hollywood, and I don’t know,” she told the outlet. “I mean, so far I feel like it’s okay.

“I think it’s fine to have those conversations with people, but for me it doesn’t define someone. For some people it is and it’s like you have no control over it. I can’t do anything about it, so I have to let it happen.”

Hines and Kennedy married in 2014 after nearly three years of dating.

The ‘Waitress’ star’s comments about her husband come after he made headlines for his alleged affair with Nuzzi, a 31-year-old political correspondent for New York Magazine.

Nuzzi admitted to having a relationship with Kennedy after he allegedly told people about the “intimate” photos she texted him.

The scandal led to Nuzzi’s suspension from her job and breakup from then-fiancé Ryan Lizza.

Hines, meanwhile, has put on a united front with Kennedy, despite being photographed without her wedding ring shortly after the news broke.
