Chelsea prepare surprise transfer offer after expensive Man United flop

Chelsea have had a turbulent transfer window this summer, with a number of players leaving and joining the club.

After the arrival of new manager Enzo Maresca, they invested heavily in signing new players this summer without hesitation.

The Blues are now preparing to sign one of their Premier League rivals’ players.

According to Fussball.News, Chelsea are interested in signing Manchester United’s ousted player Jadon Sancho.

The England winger has been linked with a move away from the club as the player remains bottom of the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Sancho has struggled at Man United since joining the club for £73million in 2021 (via BBC).

Last season he was loaned to Borussia Dortmund after a public falling out with manager Erik ten Hag, but since his return to the club the two have decided to work together again.

However, the Red Devils would like to sell him this summer and are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the report, negotiations with the French champions have collapsed and Chelsea want to use that to their advantage by signing the former Dortmund winger.

The German outlet reported that the Blues are willing to offer a transfer fee and two youth players in a swap deal for the Man United player.

The report also cites a loan deal as a possible cause of the Sancho dilemma facing Man United.

Chelsea must abandon signing Man United star Sancho

Considering the number of wingers the Blues already have at their club, it would be a big surprise if they were to sign Sancho.

Last week Pedro Neto was signed from Wolves and currently Raheem Sterling, Cole Palmer, Mkhaylo Mudryk and Noni Madueke are also their options.

Instead of signing new players, they should focus on shrinking their massive squad.
