Charlotte start time, TV, streaming, lineup

play

It’s time for another elimination race in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, and this one will be the most unique yet.

The drivers will take to the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval on Sunday – the part road course, part oval circuit – with a place in the third round down the line. After Sunday’s race, eight drivers will continue and four will be eliminated from the battle for the championship.

The Roval course was redesigned after last year’s race, although it is still a 17-turn circuit. There are two major revisions: the first at turns 5, 6 and 7 leading from the infield area back to the oval; and the second in turns 15, 16 and 17 that tightens the frontstretch chicane before the start/finish line. The former could lead to more passing opportunities, while the latter could cause some potential chaos.
