Champions League fixtures: Man City kick off against Inter, Liverpool travel to AC Milan

Premier League champions Manchester City will face Internazionale in their first leg of this season’s Champions League on September 18, a repeat of the 2023 final in Istanbul.

Liverpool travel to AC Milan, the Reds’ opponents in the 2005 and 2007 finals, on September 17, while Arsenal open the season with an away match against Atalanta on September 19.

Aston Villa, back in the competition for the first time since 1982-83, travel to Swiss side Young Boys on September 17.

Scottish champions Celtic host season opener Slovan Bratislava on September 18, before taking on 2024 finalists Borussia Dortmund away on October 1.

That same day, Arsenal host Paris St-Germain in the Gunners’ second match of the new ‘league phase’, while Villa take on Bayern Munich at Villa Park on October 2.

Arne Slot’s Liverpool welcome German champions Bayer Leverkusen and La Liga champions Real Madrid to Anfield on November 5 and 27 respectively, while the Gunners travel to Inter on November 6.

City play their penultimate league game against PSG on January 22, while Villa host Scottish Premiership champions Celtic on Matchday 8.

The last competition matches of all teams will start at the same time, on Wednesday 29 January at 8:00 PM.

In a radical change from the previous Champions League format, each team will play eight matches in the new competition phase.

The draw for the league phase took place in Monaco on Thursday, but match dates and times were not announced until Saturday.
