Central Alberta Auto Club hosts car show in preparation for Canada Day

The fifth annual car show, previously held at the museum in conjunction with Canada Day activities, was moved to the Sundre Pro Rodeo grounds for more room to spread out

ZONDRE – The format for the fifth annual West Country Cruisers’ Sundre Car Show has changed slightly this year.

Previously, the car show was held on the historic village grounds of the Sundre & District Museum and on nearby streets, in conjunction with the community’s Canada Day activities. This time, the show will be held on June 30 at the Sundre Rodeo Grounds, in preparation for the July 1 festivities.

“It’s the first year on the rodeo grounds because we were limited on space in the museum,” said Erin Erickson, one of the group’s founders.

This year’s event also includes an outdoor market and food trucks, live singing courtesy of Linda Jean and Gloria Kae, prizes and door prizes with two children’s entertainers on site.

Sundre Fountain Tire will also present a family-friendly drive-in movie at sunset, while The Den – Sundre Youth Centre plans to set up a putting green to collect donations.

Registered car show attendees are also automatically entered into a drawing for door prizes, and there will be raffles and a 50-50 match.

Vehicle registration is scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and costs $20. Awards ceremony begins at approximately 2:30 p.m.
