Center for Gifted Studies that trains teachers with AP Summer Institute

BOWLING GREE, Ky. – On the campus of Western Kentucky University, the Center for Gifted Studies prepares high school teachers to teach AP courses at their high schools across the country.

Teachers from 14 different states came to the Center for Gifted Studies to learn about AP topics and how they can teach and help their students at home.

Courses from art to calculus, biology and more were available to the teachers. During the lessons, they discussed the best ways to teach these difficult lessons, the different topics they can cover within their field and exercises they can have their students do to help them understand the course as best as possible.

The institute, which has been in existence for more than 40 years, is a great benefit to high school teachers across the country. A teacher who came from California tells News 40 that it’s important to understand the topics to challenge and support your students.
