Celebrations as top Senegalese talent abroad earn the prestigious Player of the Year award

Chelsea forward Nicholas Jackson has been presented with the prestigious award for his performances with the Blues during the 2023/24 season.

Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson has been honored with the prestigious title of “Best Senegalese Player Playing Abroad” for the 2023/2024 season.

According to a report by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Blues striker was recognized for his performances at Chelsea during the 2023/24 season.

Jackson secured the top spot in the voting, receiving an impressive 203 votes to receive the coveted title.

Closely behind was Kalidou Koulibaly with 167 votes, followed by Chérif Ndiaye with 47 votes.

CAF have confirmed the venue and dates for the 2024 Player of the Year awards.


The recognition comes after an excellent season for Jackson at Chelsea.

Despite a shaky start at Chelsea when he joined in the 2023 summer transfer window, Jackson has quickly established himself as a key player and a prolific goalscorer.

With five goals and three assists in his appearances for Chelsea this season, Jackson has had a significant impact.

His goal tally is second only to Cole Palmer, who leads the team with six goals.

Last season, Jackson enjoyed an even more productive campaign, scoring 17 goals and providing 6 assists in 44 appearances for the Blues.
