Carroll County 2024 boys lacrosse All-County team

For Liberty Boys Lacrosse fans, 2024 has been a roller coaster season. With a strong defense already in place, it was a developing attack that became key for the Lions in the latter part of the season.

After a rough start, coach Steve Fabian made some adjustments, picking up the pace and working some young players into the mix to shake things up and overwhelm opponents with talent from all angles.

As a result, the Lions peaked at the right time, defeating two county opponents in playoff rematches to win the Class 1A West Region I championship. They kept their winning streak going and reached the program’s first state title game in more than 15 years. The Lions offense scored double-digit goals in three consecutive playoff games during the historic run.

For his efforts, Liberty’s Steve Fabian has been named the 2024 Carroll County Times boys lacrosse coach of the year.

“Steve and his coaching staff have done an excellent job this year,” Liberty athletic director Ed DeVincent said in a statement. “The team started slowly, but got better every game and peaked at the end of the year. As an AD, I want to see improvement throughout the year and we did that and it was rewarded by making it to the state championship.”
