Carabao Cup third round draw: Title holders Liverpool host West Ham, Chelsea play Barrow

Carabao Cup holders Liverpool begin their defence of their title in the third round of the competition at home to West Ham.

The match at Anfield is one of three Premier League meetings, with Everton taking on Southampton at Goodison Park and Brighton hosting Wolves at the Amex Stadium.

The reward for League Two club Barrow for reaching the third round for the first time since 1967-68 is a trip to 2024 finalists Chelsea, while AFC Wimbledon – who beat Premier League Ipswich on penalties in the second round – host Newcastle.

Arsenal take on Bolton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium while Manchester United welcome Barnsley to Old Trafford.

Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City take on Championship Watford at the Etihad Stadium, while Aston Villa and Tottenham travel to Wycombe and Coventry respectively.

The matches will be played in the weeks of 16 to 23 September. The matches in the Champions League and Europa League will also take place in this period.
