As the former CEO of Magna International, a world leader in the production of automotive parts, Frank Stronach was a major player in the business world. In the 1980s alone, the company’s revenue grew twelvefold, to well over a billion dollars per year.

Stronach would go on to be praised by prime ministers and presidents. He has received the Order of Canada. You can find his name on many landmarks near Aurora, Ontario where he presided over Magna.

But in June this year, Stronach was arrested on five charges of sex crimes. Police captured more in the following months, and by October Stronach’s indictment had grown to 18 criminal counts. The alleged offenses date from 1977 to this year and involve thirteen women.

Stronach categorically denies all allegations.

Mark Kelley reported on the Stronach case for the CBC’s Fifth Estate. You can stream “Stronach: Power and Silence” on YouTube now.
