California State Senator Forced Chief of Staff to Perform Sex Act That Left Him Injured: Lawsuit

A California state senator allegedly forced her chief of staff into a “reciprocal sex relationship” that left him with multiple physical injuries, according to a lawsuit filed last week.

Sen. Marie Alvarado-Gil, who recently switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party, is facing allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation and violations of other state labor laws against her former chief of staff, Chad Condit, who filed a civil lawsuit Thursday in Sacramento Superior Court.

Condit, who is married, alleged that Alvarado-Gil was an “unpredictable” and “controlling” boss who “sexually abused his authority and power.”

“This was a sex-based, reciprocal relationship of unwanted advances and sexual behavior, combined with punishment and displays of power,” the complaint states.

During their final encounter, Condit alleged that Alvarado-Gil forced him to perform oral sex on him in a car seat, leaving him with three herniated discs in his back and a collapsed hip because he had to “twist and contort” his body in the confined space of the car, the complaint said.

Condit claims he then used his injury as an excuse to refuse Alvarado-Gil’s demands for oral sex, which made Alvarado-Gil unhappy and threatened his job. Alvarado-Gil allegedly retaliated and sent him a disciplinary letter accusing him of inappropriate behavior.

Condit was fired in December after making it clear the senator’s advances were not welcome and after he underwent hip surgery, the lawsuit said.

Alvarado-Gil’s attorney, Ognian Gavrilov, told Fox News Digital in a statement that the allegations against the senator are false.

“A disgruntled former employee fabricated a strange story, presented without evidence, in order to obtain a paycheck,” Gavrilov said. “We expect the senator to be fully exonerated of any wrongdoing from these false, financially motivated claims.”

The California State Senate is also named in the lawsuit.

“The Senate has not been subpoenaed in this matter, but we are in discussions with counsel to assess next steps,” Senate Secretary Erika Contreras told Fox News Digital in a statement. “The Senate takes all complaints incredibly seriously, but cannot comment on matters relating to ongoing litigation.”

Jacqui Nguyen, spokesperson for the California Senate Republican Caucus, told Fox News Digital in a statement that the senator is fully cooperating.

“Senator Alvarado-Gil is fully cooperating,” Nguyen said. “This is a lawsuit about a former employee, so we need to let the legal process play out and refer all investigations to the Senate Rules Committee.”
