Caitlin Clark played basketball for almost 12 months straight – and what a year it was.

From breaking the all-time NCAA scoring record in women’s basketball, to being the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA draft, to leading the Indiana Fever to 20 wins and the postseason, Clark clearly set the basketball world on fire and kept the basketball world is definitely on fire. things that are interesting during the summer when sports in general usually have a quiet period.

Clark posted a message to fans in which she began to reflect on the last eleven months of her life.

“Year one (check) – thank you to the many people who supported me as I achieved my childhood dream. I am filled with gratitude as I look back on the past year of my life. See you all in year two.”

What’s next for Clark? Probably a real break from the game she has dominated in recent months.

Clark has been playing basketball since the Iowa Hawkeyes began their exhibition schedule against the DePaul Blue Demons on October 15, 2023. She got a few days off between the national championship and the WNBA Draft and then a few more days between the draft and her first practice with the fever.

The Fever started 1-8 as the team tried to involve Clark on offense. Indiana was 11-15 at the Olympic break, but it looked like the team was working in the gym.

Indiana was firing on all cylinders, winning seven of its first eight games after returning from the break. The Fever earned the sixth seed in the playoffs, but were swept by the Connecticut Sun.

Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game. She was named AP WNBA Rookie of the Year and finished fourth in the WNBA MVP voting.
