Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark finished fourth in the WNBA MVP voting for the 2024 season.

Six of the 67 voters had Clark in third place, with another 26 voters naming her fourth. Her 130 points put her behind A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces, Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx and Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty.

The 6-foot-3 guard achieved a number of impressive milestones, the most notable of which were assists in a single game (19) and in an entire season (337).

Clark’s progress and the emergence of The Fever in the second half of the season after the Olympic break undoubtedly saw her skyrocket in the running for the MVP award and likely earn her Rookie of the Year honors.

Indiana punched its ticket to the playoffs for the first time since 2016, and Clark emerged as the offensive engine. In her last 14 games, she averaged 23.1 points and 8.9 assists while shooting 43.5 percent from the floor and 37.0 percent from beyond the arc.

For the season, Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game. In addition to her assist record, her 769 points were the most ever by a rookie. She also had the first triple-double by a rookie when she had 19 points, 12 boards and 13 dimes in an 83–78 win over the Liberty on July 6.

The Fever begin their best-of-three playoff series against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday, and given their good play, it’s certainly possible to beat the third-seeded team.

As for Clark, the 22-year-old has already cemented her status as one of the franchise’s cornerstones.
