Caitlin Clark knew she was just one rebound away from another triple-double, because of course she was

Caitlin Clark, of course, knew she was on her way to her second career triple-double. Her teammates and the home crowd knew it, too.

We’d be kidding ourselves if we thought anyone—let alone Caitlin Clark—wouldn’t be aware of something like a triple-double. It’s hard to ignore stats like this, especially when they’re historic in scale. On Wednesday, while Caitlin was busy shooting monumental 3-point shots and dishing out behind-the-back passes, she also notched a triple-double. Her stellar stat line broke a rookie record set earlier this season by *checks notes* herself.

Caitlin’s impressive performance came on a last-second rebound, and when asked if she knew she was that close, Caitlin smiled and replied, “Of course I knew. But honestly, we were just trying to make stops… We found a way to make it happen. But somebody had to get the rebound. (Aliyah Boston) joked — we always joke about stealing each other’s rebounds. So that was funny.”

There’s one person who didn’t know Caitlin was close to making history — Kelsey Mitchell. While Fever fans went wild, Kelsey was seemingly (and hilariously) confused about the whole ordeal.
