Busia has at least one team in the volleyball final today

Busia will field a team for the boys volleyball team finals at the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) competitions today, with Butula of Katakwa carrying the flag for the region.

Butula and Katakwa faced each other in an exciting semi-final. The winner of the semi-final will play Namwela or Malava today.

Katakwa secured a place in the semi-finals by beating Vihiga 3-2 (25-21, 18-25, 25-10, 25-27, 15-10).

Butula defeated former national and East African champions Malava Boys 3-2 and Wabukhonyi 3-0.

Lugulu Girls will face Butere in the first semi-final and Miruri will face Mwitoti in the second semi-final.

Busia Woman Representative Catherine Omanyo has commended the two schools for raising the flag of the region by ensuring that one team will play in the final tomorrow.

“This is a confirmation that Busia is gifted with talents that offer great potential,” she said, promising to support teams with such high driving performances in the future.
