Browns win three Emmy Awards

They also took home the trophy for Social Concern for their production of ‘A New Era | The Girls Flag Football Story in Northeast Ohio.’ Director of Content & Production Ricky Soinski, Production Manager of Content Operations Konner Sanghera, Producer of Digital Content Justin Fela, Justin Stine, Anthony Baucco and Andrew Davidson all played a role in the creation of the episode to capture the story of the growth of girls flag football in high school.

The Cleveland Browns Girls High School Flag Football programming, presented by Gatorade and in partnership with Bridgestone, aims to provide access and opportunities for female high school student-athletes to compete in and experience the fastest growing sport, flag football. By providing resources and information to players, coaches and parents, the Browns are able to expand the knowledge of the game and provide opportunities through the Cleveland Browns, USA Football, NFL FLAG and the NFL.

The Browns’ implementation of Girls High School Flag Football began in 2021 with Northeast Ohio Flag Football and has since created the first Girls High School Flag Football division in Ohio. Together, they are working to elevate Girls High School Flag Football to promote equity in sports offered at the high school level. Ultimately, the Browns are focused on creating a pathway for Girls High School Flag Football to become a recognized varsity sport under the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA).
