Browns RB Pierre Strong taken to hospital during training camp

BEREA, Ohio — The Cleveland Browns will keep a close eye on running back Pierre Strong Jr. after he suffered an injury during practice Wednesday that he was checked out at a nearby hospital.

Strong suffered the injury while doing a glove drill with the team. He walked into the training facility with his trainers, holding his ribs.

A few minutes later, Strong was loaded into an ambulance outside the hospital and taken to University Hospital for evaluation.

After practice, head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed it was a rib injury. Shortly after, the team provided an update, stating that Strong had left with shortness of breath and, after evaluation at UH, was diagnosed with a rib contusion and was released.

It is currently unknown how serious the rib bruise is and whether Strong will be out for any time as a result.

Cleveland has been dealing with multiple injuries in the running backs room, with Nick Chubb and Nyheim Hines both still rehabbing knee injuries.
