Brandon Aiyuk agrees to $120M pact with 49ers to end long-running contract dispute | San Francisco 49ers

Brandon Aiyuk’s long-running contract dispute with San Francisco came to an end Thursday when he agreed to a four-year deal to remain with the 49ers.

A person familiar with the deal said the sides reached an agreement Thursday after Aiyuk missed his second straight practice despite being cleared to participate by team doctors. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal had not yet been announced.

NFL Network first reported the deal, which calls for Aiyuk to receive $120 million over four years, with $76 million in guarantees.

Aiyuk has refused to practice the entire offseason as part of a contractual “hold in” with the team because he has a back injury. Coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch said he was cleared by doctors for Wednesday’s practice, but Aiyuk still did not participate, risking fines.

But that was all settled a day later when the teams reached an agreement 11 days before the season opener against the New York Jets on September 9.
