BOWLING GREEN, Ky – Bowling Green East took the diamond today at Ephram White Park and left as district champions after their 17-0 victory over Logan County in the District 1 Major League final.

Captain Carr, Asa Buchanan and Brady Boyd each had two RBIs.

In the tournament as a whole, East scored 58 points while allowing only two points.

After the big win, some of the guys from the team shared their excitement and what they expect to do in the state.

“Have more fun, play with friends, have fun with friends and hopefully win more,” Jake Young said.

“We’ve been playing since we were seven,” Henry Phillips said. “So we know everyone really well and have good chemistry.”

“It’s very exciting,” said head coach Jef Goodnight. “This is what Little League is about, especially East Little League. We said we have a very good tradition and program, right? So we’ve set the expectation that we’ll get through this tournament and do as well as we did. I think we gave up two runs the whole tournament – pretty good. We have a very special team. They’ve been playing together for a number of years, and they just do the things that are asked of them and they work hard. This is the fruit of their labor.”
