Bobby Leopold leads the field at the start of match play at RI Amateur

WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) – By the end of the week, Bobby Leopold is hoping to have more than just back-to-back medalists on his resume, and he’s off to a great start. The reigning Rhode Island Amateur champion has a 135 through the first two days of play, which puts him in the top spot as the tournament moves to match play.

Jonathan Cooper and Bennett Masterson finished in a tie for second place, one stroke behind Leopold with 136.

La Salle graduate and soon-to-be Rutgers freshman Max Jackson scored a 68 on Day 2, moving up 13 spots in the standings. He tied for fifth place with a 139.
