‘Bobby Green is going to hit him, hurt him’

Two very different styles collide this weekend in the main event of UFC 304, as Paddy Pimblett takes on Bobby Green in a huge lightweight bout.

“The Baddy” has appeared on the scorecards in his last two fights after defeating his first three opponents inside the Octagon, but he is always dangerous.

While the Englishman’s physical strength and submission skills pose a major threat, the dangers Green poses are very different.

This match is the 50th on his professional list. The experienced lightweight boxer is a skilled boxer who often tempts his opponents to bite off more than they can chew.

A former UFC champion believes this could be the story of the match on Saturday night in Manchester.

Alexander Volkanovski expects King Green to play the Matador against Paddy Pimblett

During his analysis of the card on his YouTube channel, former UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski spoke about the difficulties that come with fighting someone like Green.

Green often carries his hands at his sides and relies on his reaction time to prompt opponents to throw strikes at him, allowing him to slip and counter with his quick hands and combinations.

Pimblett has been working hard on his punching of late and questions have been raised in the past about how good his technique is when he launches his fists into the air.

Volkanovski sided with Green when giving his preferences for the card and he believes a crucial aspect of this fight will be the 155-pound boxer playing his usual game.

“I’m going with Bobby Green, I think he’s the safest choice here. It’s going to be a three-round fight. Paddy Pimblett, yeah, I think he’s going to be tough to take down and finish. Can he go and upset the home crowd? I don’t think Bobby Green will be bothered by that.

“Again, Bobby Green is going to put himself in positions where Paddy Pimblett feels like he can shoot and put him to sleep. I guarantee we’ll see that pretty much straight away. I think Bobby Green is going to hit him, hurt him, maybe Paddy Pimblett would go straight after that and look for the shots. Does he get them? Or does he get hurt straight away? I’m not sure.”
