Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg and RHCP ready for Olympics ceremony

The 2024 Paris Olympics will reportedly conclude with a musical celebration featuring some of Los Angeles’ leading artists.

According to an exclusive report from VarietyThe closing ceremony on August 11 will feature three of LA’s most influential artists: Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, each representing a different aspect of the city’s rich cultural heritage.

According to the publication, the artists will be featured from Los Angeles in a mix of pre-recorded and live performances, a musical transmission for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Born in Highland Park, Billie Eilish has become one of the defining musical voices of her generation. Her debut album, Where do we go when we all fall asleep?not only reached number one on the Billboard 200, but also made her the youngest artist to win all four major Grammy categories in one year.

Eilish, whose hits including “Bad Guy” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, paid tribute to her city’s iconic landmarks and culture in her 2021 concert film, Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles.

Snoop Dogg, a cornerstone of West Coast rap, has already been a standout figure at the Paris Games. From his viral commentary for NBC to his role as America’s Olympic torchbearer, Snoop has brought his charisma to the world stage, cementing himself as something of an unofficial ambassador for the country.

Snoop, whose career has spanned three decades, has consistently charted on the Billboard Hot 100, including his debut single “Who Am I (What’s My Name?)” and collaborations like “Drop It Like It’s Hot.” In addition to his music career, Snoop has ventured into acting, launched a successful line of cannabis products and even hosted a cooking show with Martha Stewart.

Rounding out the musical trifecta are local heroes, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Formed in Los Angeles in 1983, the band has been a driving force in the city’s music scene for decades.

The band has a long history of success on the Billboard charts, with albums such as Blood Sugar Sex Magic And Californian debauchery dominate the Billboard 200. Their hit singles “Under the Bridge” and “Scar Tissue” are also fixtures on the Billboard Hot 100.

But the music isn’t the only draw. Reports suggest that Hollywood’s Tom Cruise will perform a stunt that could rival his most famous movie scenes. TMZ.

Cruise will reportedly rappel down from the top of the Stade de France, holding the Olympic flag. This will be followed by a pre-recorded clip of him parachuting up onto the iconic Hollywood sign.
