VADODARA: There were plenty of goals on the opening day of the AIFF Futsal Club Championship 2023-24 at the Swarnim Gujarat Sports University in Vadodara district of Gujarat on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

Classic Football Academy, Bangalore Arrows and Thyristor FC Ramhlun Venglai all registered big wins to start their campaigns in Groups A, B and C respectively.

Classic FA makes a solid return
In the opening match of the tournament, Classic Football Academy marked their return to the national stage after two seasons with an 8-1 win over Sports Odisha in Group A. 18-year-old Chuingampou Kamei scored a hat-trick in the first half, while Yendrembam Rohit Singh and Yumnam Banty Singh scored one each to put Manipur 5-0 ahead at half-time. The onslaught continued in the second period with Ningthoujan Renedy Singh’s brace and another from Paonam Govin Singh, taking the Classic total to eight. Sports Odisha got a consolation goal three minutes before the end through Jagannath Tudu.

Bangalore Arrows FC put 18 past Satvir FC
In Group B, Bangalore Arrows FC made a Futsal Club Championship debut to remember as they defeated Satvir FC 18-2. The goals came symmetrically: nine in each half for Karnataka. Nikhil Ayyappa Nunna scored the majority of those, with seven goals to his name. Yogith N and Surya UK added a hat-trick each, while V Surendra Prasad scored a brace and Narendra Prasad Vincent Mari scored once. Satvir FC’s Abhinav Dahiya and Pawan scored an own goal each. Thyristor FC makes sensational debut
In the final match of the day, Thyristor FC Ramhlun Vengai overcame an early deficit to beat Speed ​​Force FC 9-2 in Group C.
