Another PlayStation exclusive has hit PC, and it’s definitely not one to be sniffed at. The absolutely gigantic God of War: Ragnarok isn’t just for PS5 players anymore. We all know what the PC crowd really comes for: the modifications.

PC modding is one of the platform’s biggest draws, and God of War: Ragnarok has not escaped its grasp in any way. If you buy any of the PS5’s biggest games on PC, don’t forget to stop by Nexus and pick up some of these mods to improve your graphics, performance, or just plain fun.

Below are, in random order, the six best pc mods for God of War: Ragnarokfrom his Nexus page and other sources. Keep in mind that like the upcoming Jörmungandr, Ragnarok mud is still in its infancyso new mods are constantly appearing. It’s a great time to enter the Nine Realms – and if that infamous PSN account requirement puts you off, modders have of course found a way to mod That also out.

Ragnarok Natural Colors

The first priority for any new PC release – well, after replacing the main character with CJ, that is – is to make it look better. Ragnarok Natural Colors does just that, using the tried-and-true ReShade framework to introduce subtle but meaningful color grading that tones down the cartoonish saturation that plagues the base game across its various realms. The overall effect is far more natural and – dare I say it – more realistic. At least it’s as realistic as anything in this game full of talking squirrels and magic hammers can be, of course.

Anti-Stutter – High CPU and Disk Priority

The game may look slick, but now it needs to run smoothly. This mod basically does exactly what it says on the tin, which is manually increase the game’s priority so that it can use more of your system’s resources. The game suffers from a lot of performance issues due to underutilization of your hardware, so if you’re experiencing stuttering or black screens, this mod is basically essential.

Save Classic Kratos File

If you couldn’t break away from God of War 3 this used to be the mod for you. Normally Kratos’ God of War 3 watch is saved for the final reward at the end of the roguelike Walhalla DLC, but since that’s probably literally the last thing you do the entire game, you barely have time to enjoy it. Not anymore. This custom save file gives you the cosmetic right from the start, starting just after the game’s first boss fight – just in time to see classic Kratos take on Thor. Granted, early Kratos would have ripped his head off without a moment’s hesitation, so he’s still cool small.

NoClip CE

What kind of god is limited by a few puny trees? If you’ve ever wanted to see what’s off-limits, investigate distant details, or just get into that whole “Ghost of Sparta” thing literalNoClip has you covered. With the press of a button, you can phase through any solid surface in the Nine Realms, allowing you to sequence to your heart’s content. While this absolutely destroys the plot if you think about it for more than five seconds, there’s nothing better for virtual photography—or for finally getting a peek at Tyr sleeping in Brok’s closet.

CJ

All you had to do was defeat the damn gods, CJ. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas’ Carl “CJ” Johnson is an icon, not only in gaming in general, but also in the PC modding scene. Almost every PC game you can name has swapped its protagonist with CJ, from Armored core Unpleasant Yakuza-0 even other GTA games—and now it’s Kratos’ turn. This replacement is unfortunately only a paid mod for now, but there will inevitably be others released throughout the game’s lifespan. If nothing else, seeing the decidedly mortal CJ grapple with Thor in a snowy Midgard wearing nothing but a tank top and jeans is a spectacle in itself.

God of War Ragnarok Cheat Table

Rounding out our list is perhaps the cornerstone of PC modding: brazen, shameless cheating. As long as it’s not in a multiplayer game, it’s probably okay, and that’s exactly the ethos that the Cheat Table brings to the… table. While there’s no noclip option (check that out above), this Cheat Table can give you every resource in the game, boost your stats, give you XP, or even make you outright invincible if a Valhalla run gives you trouble. While this may be immersive, you could also just chalk it up to Kratos unlocking his true godly potential or something. He’s done wilder things.

These are all the best mods out there Ragnarok at this time, but keep an eye on the game’s Nexus page for more as they’re released. One thing’s for sure: when that prophecy said Ragnarok would change the Nine Realms forever, it certainly wasn’t a joke. I doubt any of this will make it into the upcoming TV show.
